The farmers’ agitation continues on the three bills related to the agricultural sector. Despite heavy opposition, the central government is not in a mood to backtrack. PM Narendra Modi said that on the day of Vishwakarma Jayanti, the historic Agrarian Reform Bill has been passed in the Lok Sabha. These bills have freed our annadata farmers from many restrictions. These reforms will provide more options and more opportunities for farmers to sell their produce. I congratulate the farmers of the country for these bills.
Taking a dig at the opposition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that it was very important to bring these bills to protect the middlemen between the farmer and the customer, who take a large part of the farmers’ earnings themselves. These bills have come as a defense shield for the farmers. But some people who have been in power for decades, have ruled the country, they are trying to confuse the farmers on this subject.
PM Narendra Modi said that some people are lying to the farmers. At the time of elections, he used to talk big things to lure the farmers, used them in writing, put them in his manifesto and forgot after the election. Today, when the BJP-NDA government is doing the same things, they are spreading all sorts of illusions.
On the minimum support price (MSP), PM Narendra Modi said that now it is being propagated that the benefit of MSP will not be given to the farmers by the government. It is also being said that the government will not buy paddy, wheat etc. from farmers. This is a false lie, wrong, farmers are deceived. Our government is committed to provide fair prices to farmers through MSP. Even before, there are today and will continue to be. Government procurement will also continue as before.
PM Narendra Modi said that any person can sell his product anywhere in the world, wherever he can, but only the farmer brothers and sisters were denied this right. Now, with the new provisions in force, the farmer will be able to sell his crop in any market of the country, at his desired price.
PM Narendra Modi said that as much has been done for farmers in the last 6 years under NDA rule, it has never been done before. Considering the problems faced by the farmers, our government has made continuous efforts to overcome every problem.
